The Harry Potter franchise has one of the largest and most loyal fan bases of all time. Despite the fact that the last book was published in 2007 and the last movie came out in 2011, people (including me) love Harry Potter merchandise. Whether you are shopping for yourself or looking for a gift for a Harry Potter fan, below is my list of the best places to buy awesome Harry Potter gear online.
Universal Studios Store
The online Universal Studios Store carries an awesome assortment of Harry Potter merchandise. Much of the merchandise available in the theme parks is available at this online store. They have movie replicas, holiday ornaments, and the high-quality (and somewhat expensive) Hogwarts robes that you can get in the park. They have wands, apparel, and home décor. I love my house sweatshirt and I really want one of the iconic sweaters knitted by Mrs. Weasley.
The Warner Brothers Store
The WB Shop carries the largest collection of officially licensed Harry Potter merchandise and collectibles. They carry the character wands, costumes, jewelry, movie replicas, apparel, games, and much more. You can also find items from various Harry Potter collaborations such as Alex and Ani jewelry and Vans shoes. Some of my favorite items include the replica jewelry from the movies and the quidditch cup blanket.
A similar option is the Harry Potter Shop (https://www.harrypottershop.com). They carry much of the same merchandise as the WB Shop.
Etsy
For the most unique Harry Potter-inspired merchandise, you have to visit Etsy. Makers from around the world create amazingly creative Harry Potter-inspired items from baby gear to bath bombs. I wrote about some of my favorite Harry Potter-inspired home décor pieces from Etsy in a previous post. You can find some of the coolest low-key HP creations here. I really love this Advanced Potion Making Journal, this grim tea cup, and this HP-themed shirt. Be warned: you may end up spending an inordinate amount of time browsing Harry Potter-inspired items on this site.
Pottery Barn/PB Teen/Pottery Barn Kids/Williams Sonoma
Last year, Pottery Barn (as well as PB Teen, Pottery Barn Kids, and Williams Sonoma) released a Harry Potter line with some amazing décor and kitchen items. Although many items went out of stock following the holidays, most seem to be back in stock. I have the Time-Turner clock but have my eye on several other pieces.
Alex and Ani
Alex and Ani make adorable Harry Potter jewelry that allows you to show your fandom in a more subtle way. Their pieces are understated and classy. Some of my favorites include the snitch necklace (which I wore to see the Cursed Child in New York) and the time turner necklace (which is currently on my Amazon wish list).
Hot Topic
Although I hadn’t shopped at Hot Topic for many years, once I realized that they had a Harry Potter collection they won me over. I often shop here before a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. They have several really cute pieces in the Harry Potter collection and they carry plus size apparel which I really appreciate.
GameStop (previously ThinkGeek)
In 2015, GameStop purchased retailer ThinkGeek. Now you have to visit the GameStop website, but you can still find a fun collection of Harry Potter video games (obviously), collectibles, and even apparel. This is a great place to go for less expensive quirky items or gifts. I think the Luna Lovegood Pez dispenser is amazing!
Torrid
Torrid is a plus-size retailer that has a number of really cute Harry Potter items. They have a ‘fangirl’ section on their website where they carry items inspired by pop culture. I would love to have some of their cute tops.
Other online Harry Potter merchandise retailers include:
Box Lunch
This site has some really cool and unique Harry Potter items. They also seem to have a sweatshirt with every Harry Potter quote or image ever.
Target
Target’s Harry Potter line includes clothing, decor, costumes, toys, movies, and books. Prices are very reasonable, but the collection isn’t very big.
Barnes & Noble
Collection includes books (obviously), games, collectibles, toys, and other gifts.
Kohls
Kohl’s also has a small collection of Harry Potter apparel and accessories. Be sure to take advantage of their Kohl’s Cash promotions when shopping here.
Walmart
Walmart has a pretty extensive collection of Harry Potter merchandise including an invisibility cloak that works with an app on your phone.
Amazon
Many of the Harry Potter items found in the licensed stores can also be found on Amazon. Be sure to double-check manufacturer and shipping information before buying Harry Potter items from Amazon.
Zazzle
At Zazzle, you can select any Harry Potter image or artwork that you like and have them print it on just about anything you can imagine.
